​Our Origins: A Global Vision Backed by Grupo Carso

 

ANADOLU METALLICA (AMET) was established in 1972 as the first international industrial arm of Grupo Carso (Mexico City, Mexico), one of Latin America's leading industrial and infrastructure giants. Founded in the 1960s, Grupo Carso’s core mission was to expand its deep expertise in Mexican metal and plastic manufacturing into global markets.

In the early 1970s, Turkey was identified as the "Eastern Gateway" due to its dynamic industry, young population, and strategic location bridging Europe and the Middle East. AMET began its operations in Istanbul as a trading office based on this vision. Our initial focus was supplying Carso’s high-strength steel and special alloys to Turkey's developing infrastructure and heavy industry sectors.

 

Growth and Partnership: From Raw Materials to Fabrication

 

From day one, AMET aimed to be more than just a supplier; we sought to be an integrated solutions partner for our customers.

• 1978 – The Plastics Breakthrough: Recognizing the growing needs of Turkey's petrochemical and automotive sectors, we expanded our product range with high-quality polymers and engineering plastics (ABS, PP) sourced from Grupo Carso's facilities across Latin America.

• 1990s – Mechanical Solutions: In addition to raw material supply, we leveraged our global supply chain and engineering network to provide the necessary mechanical fittings (special valves, flanges, and connection components) for critical infrastructures like oil, gas, and water systems.

• 1995 – Welded Fabrication Excellence: To meet increasing specialized project demands and utilize local production advantages, we established a modern facility in Kocaeli. Here, we began offering custom welded fabrication and manufacturing services for high-pressure tanks, exchangers, and large-diameter piping systems. This facility became our first engineering center to bring Grupo Carso’s rigorous quality and safety standards, based on a zero-defect principle, to Turkey.

 

Today: Reliability and Innovation

 

Today, as ANADOLU METALLICA (AMET), with over 50 years of experience, we are the trusted partner for Turkey's largest infrastructure, energy, automotive, and construction projects.

Since 2005, we have consolidated our Turkish operations to serve as Grupo Carso’s regional distribution and engineering hub for the Middle East, North Africa, and CIS markets. We combine the global strength and innovation originating from Mexico with the established engineering knowledge and business ethics of Anatolia to make a difference in the industry.

AMET continues its industry leadership by offering a wide range of services—from supplying metal and plastic raw materials to high-standard welded fabrication solutions supported by Industry 4.0 compliant automation.
